“Small Budget, Big Impact” Reflections of Freedom (2017)
Our second Freedom event was on a smaller budget but it was no less impactful, no less anointed. We held it at Hope Church in Coventry, and once again, God moved in beautiful ways.
What blessed me so much was that many women who had attended the first Freedom came back and shared their testimonies !
You could see that the seeds sown in that first event were already bearing fruit.
One of our speakers that weekend was Angeline, who shared a powerful message titled “Why Do You Cry?” it ministered deeply to the women in the room. You could feel the presence of God touching hearts.
A story I will never forget from that event is about a woman who came along who had never attended a Pentecostal gathering before. When she entered the room, it was overwhelming for her and she quietly slipped out. After the session, Sister Mary (one of our dear volunteers, founding speakers, and supporters of Freedom) and I followed up. We found her at her hotel the Village Hotel.
We sat with her, prayed with her, and gently asked why she had left. She shared honestly it was simply too overwhelming for her at first. We encouraged her to come back the next day and praise God, she did.
The next day, this same woman received incredible ministry from Bishop David Carr. Her life was radically transformed. She gave her life to the Lord, and the Holy Spirit began a beautiful work of restoration in her life.
Over time, this precious woman became a faithful volunteer in Freedom for many years. She overcame a very difficult past, went on to achieve great things, completed her Master’s, and is now pursuing a PhD.
I’ve watched God’s hand on her life. She has shared her testimony, led prayers, mentored other women, and even drove down from Bradford many times to be part of Freedom events in Coventry.
Seeing who she is now a strong, confident woman used by God on many platforms fills me with such joy.
And her story is just one of many. As I look back over the years, there are countless testimonies like this. Freedom is not just an event it is a place of encounter, where the Holy Spirit brings true transformation.
That is why I love this ministry so much. Year after year, life after life, God shows Himself faithful .
